2008 Year in Review

Happy New Year! If you're anything like me you're in disbelief that 2008 is over and today is the first day of 2009. Did 2008 go fast for anyone else? It just blew by!

Significant things that happened in 2008 (some good and some bad)...

  • I started my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in January and have almost completed a year (will next Tuesday) with only 5 more classes remaining! YEAH!
  • Jonathan, my nephew, had his 2nd birthday in February (not possible!) which means he's about to turn 3...
  • Aaron graduated from college with his bachelor's degree in Computer Science in May (go Aaron!)
  • My brother-in-law, Joey, graduated from college
  • Debbie and I put together two very successful workshops - Web 2.0 Boot Camp and Engaging Students with Digital Media in June and July.
  • Aaron and I took a trip to Kansas City, MO to be there for the birth of my nephew, Ethan, though he decided to wait a few days until my parents got there. He was born the middle of July. Welcome to the world Ethan!
  • I turned 32 (really?) and Aaron turned 29...really. :)
  • Debbie (my former co-worker and I) wrote a grant at work and it was awarded in September.
  • My neice, Jade, started 1st grade this fall!
  • My sister-in-law, Melissa, went back to school
  • I've been doing the job of three all by myself for 4 months including implementing the Virtual Learning strand of the Vision 2020 grant which is all new. Boy am I learning a lot! Hopefully I'll only have to be alone for a couple of more months...
  • My brother-in-law, Mike, had a cancer flair-up, but was treated and is now in remission (thank you God!)
  • My step-sister-in-law (whom I had never met), passed away at the age of 40
  • My nephew, Jacob, turned 2 (already!)...
  • The economy went into a horrible recession this fall, though, so far, Aaron and I have been blessed to not be affected
I am certain 2009 is going to be a great year! I am blessed.
