So I just got home from my first officially face-to-face class I've done with my Master's Degree - and let me just say...I'm tired! lol
I am taking Computer Technology and Reading Instruction as a hybrid. This means part of the course is online and part of the course is face-to-face. Our first two classes were online and mainly consisted of getting started in the course (introductions, schedule, syllabus, etc.) and getting organized (getting the textbook, notebook, etc.). In the getting started class there was a couple of item that mentioned two things you'd need to have for the face-t0-face class. One was your Buff ID (an ID card that pretty much gets you anywhere on campus) and a Parking Permit. I had neither!
Buff ID cards were established during my junior or senior year of college (yes - that's how old I am - I remember when Buff IDs were created... :)) and I had one at that point. That was 11 or 12 years ago. Needless to say - I didn't have a Buff ID.
Additionally, because all of my courses have been online, I also did not have a parking permit. Now, I could have just taken a chance on finding parking in the free zone or taken a chance on parking anywhere and getting a ticket, but for those that know me well, I don't usually live on the wild side.
So - my day started and ended with a trip to Canyon. I know have a Buff ID (with a fresh new picture, though they did have my old picture), a Temporary Parking Permit (cost $10), and have been to my first real face-to-face class for my Master's Degree.
