Fall 2009

As I type this entry the end of 2009 is only weeks away. Hard to believe that we are about to enter the year 2010. This year has flown by quickly and much has happened. Some of the main events include:

  • February 2009 - Aaron and I purchased our first home
  • July 2009 - I quit my job to work from home
  • September 2009 - Aaron turned 30
  • December 2009 - I graduated with a Master's Degree in Instructional Design and Technology

While there are not a lot of things on that list, the things that are included here are big things. I couldn't be happier with our home and we continue to make it our own. I love our living room and am looking forward to starting on the bathrooms here soon. We are enjoying our fireplace this winter and hope the cord of wood we purchased lasts! :)

Quitting my job was a hard decision yet has turned into the exact right thing to do. I had intended to go into business with a friend and while that hasn't seemed to turn out, God has blessed me with work I can do from home - teaching online. I still have plans to start my own business and hope to get that off the ground in 2010.

As you can read from my post about Aaron's 30th birthday party, that was a big celebration.

And last but not least, I graduated with my Master's degree. When I started two year's ago I didn't realize how quickly the time would pass. Many might wonder why I finished the degree considering I quit my job; however, I believe that education is never a bad thing and will only help further me in my career. Aaron has registered to begin classes for his Master's degree in January. There has never been a time when we've been together that at least one of us wasn't in school. Guess we like to learn!

We spent Thanksgiving with Aaron's family at his mom and step-dad's place. Everyone was able to meet there. It was a nice time - short - but nice. We had good food and good fun. Can't ask for much better!

Christmas will be spent with my family at my brother's place. It will also be a short trip, but looking forward to being with family. Holidays are so much fun with little kids! Jacob is finally at an age - 3 - where he is beginning to understand everything. It's fun to watch him get excited about everything. We'll get together with Aaron's family after Christmas to celebrate. I'll try and remember to get on and write about the holidays. Those are always good memories to put down on paper. :)

Merry Christmas and God Bless!
