Wow! It's been 8 months since my last post. that is horrible. I guess I do have a minor excuse, though. There have been some major changes in my life and with that, there wasn't much time left for anything else.
The first major happening was at the end of February. We bought our first home! Yeah! It's on 1.25 acres and it's sort of out in the country. I say sort of because we're only like one mile from the city limits, but for me, it's in the country. I'm a city girl through and through so it's been an experience for me. I will say, though, I haven't seen many creatures so that's good. A few cottontail bunnies and one huge horse fly (seriously - never seen a fly this big...and black!). It's got three bedrooms and two bathrooms. We closed at the end of February, though we didn't actually move in until the very end of March because had painted the living room, our bedroom, and had wood floors put in the living room and kitchen. I love it!
One crazy thing that happened... The weekend we moved, Amarillo had the biggest snow of the season! Unbelieveable! The snow was so bad, neither Aaron or myself had to go to work on that Friday. It snowed the entire Friday. We were able to get more things packed, but waking up on Saturday morning, Aaron had to shovel the snow in the alley where it had drifted just so we could get the U-Haul to the back and get it loaded.
This was after the snow had melted some...
Needless to say - it was a crazy weekend, but we got moved (with the help of my parents, Aaron's sister, and Aaron's friends!). Even now, 4 months later, I still don't have everything unpacked. We just got the garage cleaned up to where we could park my car and the truck inside. Yeah!

Another big happening... I quit my job! Things were getting really crazy and Aaron and I would like to start a family. With traveling and the stress of my job, it wasn't happening. As of the end of July, I am officially unemployeed, though I've been getting my house in order, doing the laundry, cooking dinner (yes - for those that know me best...I am cooking!), and cleaning. Additionally, I am taking this opportunity to do some work from home. I am teaching some online professional development classes and a friend of mine and I are starting a business - Professional Development for 21st Century Learning. The plan is to be able to go into school districts and hllp them move their classrooms into the 21st century with technology. I am very excited to get that started and up and going.
Additionally, I started my last class for my Master's Degree yesterday. Yeah! If everything continues to go as planned, I will graduate with my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in December.
Whew! No wonder I'm tired! :)
